Cognate with Arabic يَتِيم (yatīm), Aramaic יַתְמָא (yaṯmā), Classical Syriac ܝܲܬ݂ܡܵܐ (yaṯmā), Classical Mandaic ࡉࡀࡕࡉࡌࡀ (yatima), Phoenician 𐤉‬𐤕‬𐤌 (y‬t‬m‬), Tigre ያፓም (yattam), Ugaritic 𐎊𐎚𐎎 (ytm).
