Etymology

Borrowed from Spanish caníbal (possibly via another European intermediary), from Taíno caniba, the (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Taíno form recorded by Christopher Columbus for the Caribs, who were greatly feared. From an (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "awd" is not valid.
