Verb
שוכנע / שֻׁכְנַע • (shukhná) (pu'al construction)
- To be convinced or persuaded (by someone or something); passive of שכנע (shikhnéa)
- לאחר ויכוחים רבים, שוכנע חברי לבוא אתי לקולנוע.
- l'akhar vikukhim rabim, shukhna khaveri lavo iti lakolnoa.
- After many arguments, my friend was convinced to come with me to the movies.

Usage notes
- This verb, which is strictly passive, emphasizes the existence of a person or thing doing the convincing. The related verb הִשְׁתַּכְנֵעַ (hishtakhnéa, “become convinced”) does not.
