Etymology

Fähnrich and Starostin reconstruct (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Kartvelian *werxw-, listing Svan ჲერხუ̂ (yerxû) and Mingrelian ვეხი (vexi) as cognates. However, Klimov considers the Svan word to be borrowed from Georgian, hence his reconstruction is for the (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Georgian-Zan stage.

Noun

ვერხჳ (verxwi)

  1. asp, aspen, asps

Descendants

  • Georgian: ვერხვი (verxvi)
