Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Georgian ძუელი (ʒueli), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Georgian-Zan *ʒ₁w-el-, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Kartvelian *ʒ₁w- (to be old (of things)) (whence also Svan ჯუინელ (ǯuinel)). Cognate with Mingrelian ჯვეში (ǯveši) and Laz მჯვეში (mcveşi).
