ثَيِّب (ṯayyibf (plural ثَيِّبَات (ṯayyibāt) or ثُيَّب (ṯuyyab))

  1. a man or woman who has ever been married; not a virgin
    Synonyms: بِكْر (bikr), عَذْرَاء (ʕaḏrāʔ)
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 66:5:
      تَائِبَاتٍ عَابِدَاتٍ سَائِحَاتٍ ثَيِّبَاتٍ وَأَبْكَارًا
      tāʔibātin ʕābidātin sāʔiḥātin ṯayyibātin waʔabkāran
      repentant, dedicated to worship and fasting—previously married or virgins.
  2. a woman who is divorced or widowed
