Borrowed from Scythian *Zamapatika (landlord), composed of Scythian *zama (earth) - which underwent a transformation into *ysam (cf. Khotanese ysama (earth)) - + Scythian *pati (leader) + Scythian *-ka (hypocoristic suffix)).[1]
