  1. Creates verbal adjectives of possibility, either active or passive (accented on the ultima, -τός)
    • δύναμαι > δυνατός

      can > able (active), doable (passive)
    • διαλῡ́ω > διαλυτός
      dialū́ō > dialutós
      dissolve > dissoluble
  2. Creates perfective passive verbal adjectives (usually accented recessively)
    • διαλῡ́ω > διάλυτος
      dialū́ō > diálutos
      dissolve > dissolved
  3. Forms adjectives from nouns (accented recessively)
    • δάκρυ > ἀ-δάκρυτος
      dákru > a-dákrutos
      tear > tearless
