Etymology

Perhaps from the endings of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Italian maestro, (deprecated template usage) [etyl] German Meister and Bürgermeister, and (deprecated template usage) [etyl] French bourgmestre.[1]

    ŝipo (ship) + ‎-estro → ‎ŝipestro (captain)
