Etymology[edit]
Variation of 1@Side-PalmBack (“one”), made with same twisting motion as other ordinal numbers in ASL.
Production[edit]
- This one-handed ASL sign is produced as follows:
- Posture the dominant hand in the “1” handshape about half an arm's length in front of the shoulder, palm facing forward.
- Supinate the hand by twisting it so the palm faces back.
- Posture the dominant hand in the “1” handshape about half an arm's length in front of the shoulder, dominant palm facing back.
