Kubura, orthography and alphabet are two very different things.

Gajica is not necessarily the sole meaning of vukopis. Vukopis relates to wider range.
First time I've encountered that term in the cultural magazine Hrvatsko slovo, later also in Fokus. You can find that term on the Internet also.
"Obscure"? Well, isn't that "fogginess" the best description for that term? According to Vuk Karadžić and anything that "stinks" like him.
Vukopis comes from
vuk + opis
Vukov (Vuk Karadžić's) ---> vuko
pravoopis (orthography) ---> pis.
Or, if you like it this way,
Vuk Karadžić ---> vuk
pravopis (orthography) ---> opis.

All the instances of this term in usage I've seen rather refer to the neoštokavian basis of modern standard Croatian, than to the alphabet (gajica, has nothing to do with V.S.K.) or the phonological orthography (also nothing to do with V.S.K.). "Violence"

It is not only "violence" done to Croatian language just by adopting phonological orthography. The term vukopis is used to describe "violence" done to actual language by changing Croatian language to almost unrecognized form by political force and totalitarian Yugoslav régime. That Serbian (better to say "Vukovian", because vukovians are Croats as well) violence is the only reason why today's "standard" Croatian language is almost the same as Serbian language altogether.

Kratko i jezgrovito rečeno: prošlost je jezika hrvatskoga sjajna, sadašnjost mračna, budućnost neizvjestna... U djelima se (ranijih) književnika zrcali pravo biće jezika hrvatskoga, pravopisa i porabe jezične. Sve je to obrazbeno blago u XX. st. odvrženo i poslano u ropotarnicu poviesti...
