Etymology

Unknown; possibly Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF..

Pronunciation

Noun

θρῐ́ξ (thríxf (genitive τρῐχός); third declension

  1. hair

Inflection

The declension unusually shows the nominative singular's initial consonant being aspirated while the other forms lack it due to Grassmann's law occurring. The nominative singular and dative plural retained their initial aspiration due to the root χ losing its aspiration before the ending starting with -ς.
