As far as I have researched the correct way to read this Sino-Okinawan word is "kwanji" (くゎんじ). I hope there will appear more Okinawan speakers who could prove this. My own Okinawan skills are very modest, yet I know many Sino-Okinawan words that are read as か (ka) in Japanese are pronounced as くゎ (kwa) in Okinawan (just as kwa used to exist in earlier forms of Japanese language). --Viskonsas (talk) 20:00, 5 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
