Summary
| Description |
24 September 2009. High Road, Tottenham near the corner of Monument Way. A pile of bedding often signals a homeless person sleeping in a less exposed corner of our great and prosperous city. But this looked more like dumping - mattress, pillows, duvet and a blanket. Anyone, resident or someone working in or passing though Haringey can report problems online at any time - including dumping - through Haringey Council's Report-a-Problem form - <a href="https://eforms.secure.haringey.gov.uk/ufs/ufsmain?formid=REPORT_A_PROBLEM" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Please Click Here</a>. You may find that you need to open a "My Haringey" Account. An alternative is to use the free website <a href="https://www.fixmystreet.com/" rel="noreferrer nofollow">FixMyStreet</a> which I strongly recommend. When reporting street problems to Haringey I gave links to my photos posted on Flickr. But in September 2009 Haringey decided to <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/alanstanton/3967634420/">block its staff</a> from accessing Flickr and other social media websites. I protested repeatedly against this absurd attempt to shut out the twenty-first century. So a few staff are now deemed grown-up and sensible enough to view dirty pictures of rubbish dumping without an attack of the vapours and swooning with shock. [Links corrected 9 March 2017.] |
