From earlier *orpas, from Proto-Indo-European *h₃órbʰos, possibly through Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hárbʰas. Compare also e.g. Proto-Finnic Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid.
