From Proto-Finno-Ugric *aja-, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Háȷ́ati, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂éǵeti, from *h₂eǵ-. Cognates include Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid.
