[edit]Borrowed from Avestan 𐬞𐬌𐬳𐬌⸱𐬳𐬌𐬌𐬀𐬊𐬚𐬥𐬆𐬨 (piš́i.š́iiaoθnəm),[1] from unknown element + *čyáwθnam (“deed, work”), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *čyáwtnam, from *čyáwati (“to move, stir; to undertake”), from Proto-Indo-European *kʷyéw-ti, from *kʷyew- (“to set in motion”), + *-tnam.[2]
