From 𐎠𐎼𐎫 (a-r-t /⁠r̥taʰ⁠/, Asha; truth) +‎ *pānah (protection). Cognate with Parthian 𐭀𐭓𐭕𐭐𐭍 (ʾrtpn /⁠Artapān⁠/).[1][2]
