Attested as Toovre in Medieval Galician documents[1] and as Talobre in local Medieval Latin documents. From a Celtic composite noun *Talobrix, from the deuterotheme *brixs (“hill”) and a prototheme derived from Proto-Celtic *talu- (“forehead > top”).[2]
