User:PUC/Standing issues

This has probably been discussed before, but everything I could find is [[Wiktionary:Beer_parlour/2012/March#Etyls_for_borrowed_words_--_how_far_back_to_track?|this old BP conversation]]. I've had some disagreements with [[User:Sgconlaw]] about this; sometimes, I think his etymologies go back too far, and become unreadable. For example, at {{m|en|tumultuous}}, I chose to remove the bit about the Proto-Indo-European origin of the Latin verb ({{diff|51181486|51181411}}). I think [[User:Vahagn Petrosyan]] will agree with me, but I'm unclear on what the community at large thinks about the issue. ~~~~
