Zipser German (code: gmw-zps) is the Germanic language which developed among those who moved from Central Germany to Slovakia in the 1200s. Zipser proper developed in the Upper Zips (the distinctive dialect of Hopgarten is called Outzäpsersch); a similar dialect called Gründlerisch developed in the Lower Zips and is part of the same language. By the 1700s if not earlier, some Zipsers had moved to Romania, where their speech was heavily influenced by Upper Austrian. All these varieties are treated as one language on Wiktionary.
