Wiktionary:Criteria for inclusion

To be included a word should have been used in at least three independantly recorded instance over a period of at least one year, unless,

  1. The word is used in a well known work.
  2. The word is in widespread use.
  3. Common usage of the word is attested in a reputable academic work.

Recorded can mean in publically available written texts or in audio/visual productions.
