Aromanian

Etymology

Probably from Latin albēscō (for the sound change, compare the same occurrence in alghinã, ghine). Compare Romanian albi, albesc.

Verb

alghescu (past participle alghitã)

  1. I whiten.
  2. (reflexive, mi-alghescu) I become white (also figuratively as in hair turning white with age)
