Albanian

Etymology

A variant of an unattested *kodh (cf. kec ~ kedh), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *kādzā, related to kedh. A possible relation with Old English codd (cod), Proto-Germanic *kuddaz is uncertain.
