Etymology

From a hypothetical form *frumushat, past participle of a verb *frumusha, ultimately from a derivative of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin formosus. Compare Daco-Romanian înfrumușa ("make beautiful, beautify") < frumos, frumusețe, and regional mușat (beautiful, handsome).
