From Ottoman Turkish صحبت (sohbet), from Persian صحبت (sohbat, conversation), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Arabic صُحْبَة (ṣuḥba, accompaniment, friendship), verbal noun of صَحِبَ (ṣaḥiba, to accompany, to be one's companion).
