From Arabic طَاجِن‎ (ṭājin), from earlier طِيجَن (ṭījan), from Classical Syriac ܛܐܓܢܐ,‎ ܛܓܢܐ (ṭēganā, frying pan), from Ancient Greek τήγανον (tḗganon), τάγηνον (tágēnon, frying pan).
