Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *dzulā, a zero-grade derivative of Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰewH- (to call). Cognate to Sanskrit हवते (hávate, to call, invoke), Avestan 𐬰𐬀𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬌𐬙𐬌 (zauuaiti) and Old Church Slavonic зъвати (zŭvati).[1]
