Learnedly, from Hellenistic Koine Greek ψυχαγωγία (psukhagōgía), from Ancient Greek ψῡχᾰγωγῐ́ᾱ (psūkhagōgíā, evocation of the dead souls),[1] from ψῡχᾰγωγός (psūkhagōgós, one who leads the dead souls).
