- used to negatively express surprise, disappointment or a guess at a fact or situation
- ܚܘܼ ܠܹܐ ܝܠܹܗ ܒܹܐ݇ܬ݂ܵܝܵܐ ܥܲܡܲܢ! ― ḥū lē ìlēh bēṯāyā ˁamman! ― Don’t tell me he’s coming with us!
- ܚܘܼ ܠܹܐ ܒܵܥܹܝܬ ܫܵܬܹܝܬ ܟ̰ܵܐܝ ܓܵܘ ܕܗ̇ܘ ܚܸܡܵܐ! ― ḥū lē bāˁēt šātēt čāy gāw d-awa ḥimmā! ― Don’t tell me you want to drink tea in this heat!
