Particularly: “Doesn't appear to be mentioned by STEDT. MED considers it an atomic phrase. That said, it could be reasonably be interpreted as a compound of စီး (ci:, to flow) +‎ ပွား (pwa:, to grow, proliferate). Luce gives the very rare Old Chinese (OC *srelʔ, “to increase fivefold”) as a cognate to the first syllable, စီး (ci:).[1]
