Particularly: “Doesn't appear to be mentioned by STEDT. MED considers it an atomic phrase. That said, it could be reasonably be interpreted as a compound of စီး (ci:, “to flow”) +‎ ပွား (pwa:, “to grow, proliferate”). Luce gives the very rare Old Chinese 蓰 (OC *srelʔ, “to increase fivefold”) as a cognate to the first syllable, စီး (ci:).[1]”
