Borrowed from Moroccan Arabic طبسي (ṭabsi, ṭubsi, plate), a variant of طبسيل (ṭabsīl, ṭubsīl), from Ottoman Turkish تپسی (tepsi), from Middle Chinese 疊子 (dep̚ t͡sɨX, small dish; plate).
