An Iranian etymology was proposed with Yagnobi ั‡ะพั€ (ฤor, โ€œnarrow gorgeโ€) as cognate.[1] See also Old Armenian ีƒีธึ€ (ฤŒor), Ancient Greek Tฮถฮฟฯฯ (Tzoรบr).
