Etymology

Inherited from Sanskrit जुष्ट (juṣṭa), related to Parachi [script needed] (ǰuṭ, “concealed”) and [script needed] (ǰuṭī, “theft”). Cognate with Gujarati જુઠું (juṭhũ), Punjabi ਝੂਠ (jhūṭh), Bengali ঝুঁঠ (jhũṭh) and Odia ଝୁଠ (jhuṭhô).
