From Ottoman Turkish اوزنگی (üzengi), from Proto-Turkic *üŕeŋgü (“stirrup”),[1] from *yüŕeŋgü, from *yüŕ (“ring”). Cognate to Bashkir өҙәңге (öźəñge), see there for more cognates.
