Etymology[edit]

Learned borrowing from Koine Greek ἀμνησία (amnēsía), semantic loan from French amnésie, from Ancient Greek privative ἀ- (a-) + stem μνη- of verb μιμνῄσκω (mimnḗiskō, remind) + suffix for abstract feminine nouns -σία (-sía)[1][2]
