In the names of countries, organisations, etc. (and, by extension, their frequently encountered initialisms), the otherwise unusual ηνωμένος (inoménos) occurs (e.g. Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες της Αμερικής (Inoménes Politeíes tis Amerikís, United States of America) and ΗΠΑ (IPA, USA), see there for more examples).
