    • 800 BCE – 600 BCE, Homer, Odyssey 1.69:
      τὴν δ’ ἀπαμειβόμενος προσέφη νεφεληγερέτα Ζεύς·
      tḕn d’ apameibómenos proséphē nephelēgeréta Zeús;
      In answer, cloud-gatherer Zeus said to her:
      This line, or the same line with τὴν (tḕn, her) replaced with τὸν (tòn, him), is repeated many times in the Odyssey.

Usage notes[edit]

Only the nominative and genitive are used in Homer.
