Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Mordvinic *ozə-, from Proto-Finno-Permic [Finno-Volgaic] *isɜ- (to sit (down)). Related to Proto-Finnic *istudak (whence Finnish istua, Livonian istõ).

Akin to Moksha озамс (ozams).
