From Proto-Turkic *od-gan- (to wake up), reflexive/passive of Proto-Turkic *od-.[1] Cognate with Kazakh ояну (oänu), Kyrgyz ойгон- (oygon-), Uzbek uygʻonmoq, Turkish uyanmak (to wake up).
