From Middle Persian ʾšmʾ, ʿšmʾ (ašmā, išmā, you), from Proto-Indo-European *yū́ (you (plural)). Compare Southern Luri ایسا (īsâ, you) and Bakhtiari ایسا (īsâ, you).
