Etymology[edit]

فَعِيل (faʕīl)-type stative-verb derived from the active participle from the verb نصَحَ (to be advise).

نَصِيح (naṣīḥ) (feminine نَصِيحَة (naṣīḥa), masculine plural نَصِيحُونَ (naṣīḥūna) or نُصَحَاء (nuṣaḥāʔ), feminine plural نَصِيحَات (naṣīḥāt), elative أَنْصَح (ʔanṣaḥ))

  1. describing the one who does sincere advising
    وَ لَن يَهْلِكَ الإِنْسَانَ إِلَّا إِذَا أَتَى * مِن الأَمْرِ مَا لَم يَرْضَهُ نُصَحَاؤهA person can never be ruined unless he approaches * A matter which is not pleasing to his sincere advisors.
