From ܡܘܼܙܵܓܵܐ (muzzāgā, “temperament, mixture”) + ܐܵܐܲܪ (āˀar, “air”), literally “mixture of air”; cognate to Hebrew מֶזֶג אֲוִיר (mézeg-avír).
