In Jewish Babylonian Aramaic קַרְעָא (qarʿā), קַרָא m (qarā, pumpkin, gourd), Jewish Palestinian Aramaic קרייה f (gourd), Christian Palestinian Aramaic ܩܪܝ f (gourd), Mishnaic Hebrew קרויה (qērūyā, dried bottle gourd), apparently metathetical to Hebrew קְעָרָה (qəʿārā, bowl, basin), Arabic قَعْر (qaʕr, bottom, depth).
