नेह (neh) + -आ (-ā), from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀡𑁂𑀳 (ṇeha, “affection, love”), ultimately from Sanskrit स्नेह (sneha), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *snóygʷʰos (“snow”). Doublet of स्नेह (sneh) and स्नेहा (snehā), tatsama variants of this name. Distant cognate with English snow.
