Borrowed from Arabic فِلَسْطِين (filasṭīn), likely influenced by Classical Persian فلسطین (falastīn). Ultimately from Ancient Greek Παλαιστίνη (Palaistínē). Compare also Punjabi فَلَسْطِین (falast̤īn).
