Etymology[edit]
སྲམ (sram, “otter”) + ངང (ngang, “duck, goose”) + མཆུ (mchu, “lip(s)”) + ཅན (can, particle, “having, endowed with”, modifying the preceding word or phrase). Literally, “duck-lipped otter”.
