Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *s/d-krwak (fear; frighten). Cognate with Nuosu (jjur) (as in ꐬꆠ (jjur hla, to fear)), Tibetan སྐྲག་པ་ (skrag pa, to be afraid) and Drung vkraq (to be surprised, to be frightened).
