Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan, for which Čuxua reconstructs *xaš-ar-, assuming loss of (r). Cognate with Georgian ხაშარი (xašari). Note that *a is preserved in Zan only in word-final positions, thus this reconstruction requires the loss of (r) to have happened very early on. As such, a more straightforward reconstruction is simply *xaš-, with different suffixes in Laz and Georgian.

Doublet of ხაშარი (xaşari).

Noun[edit]

ხოშკა (xoşǩa) (plural ხოშკაფე, Latin spelling xoşǩa) (Atina, Vizha, Artasheni)

  1. pole
    Synonyms: ხაჯკეტი (xacǩeťi), ხაშარი (xaşari)
