Etymology[edit]
Derived as a shortening of the clause 気持ちが良い (kimochi ga ii, literally “the feeling is good”). Equivalent to a compound of 気持ち (kimochi, “feeling”) + 良い (ii, “good”).[1] Compare the development of 気味良い (kimi yoi).
